Tuesday Rants

Why do we love these ugly little things so much??? We cover them in mustard and ketchup and everything else under the sun. If you really think about it while you're eating one, those toppings are pretty much all you taste. So what is the appeal?

I honestly have no idea, but I'm right there in line when they're hot off the grill. They also present that sense of family and summer fun. When I read a scene in a book where the hero or heroine is participating in a backyard BBQ or even a picnic, it reminds me of all those summers spent running wild at the lake with my family, aunts, uncles and cousins. And, if only for a moment, I feel incredible young and invincible again.

What do they represent to you?
